SOUVENIR JACKET - TIGER & JAPAN MAP FN-OJ-SV004
表面、裏面共に着用可能なリバーシブルのスーベニアジャケット。
レーヨン100%のサテン生地は独特の光沢感とドレープ感を楽しめます。
刺繍に用いているのはボディと同じ素材でもあるレーヨン糸で柔らかく光沢があります。
密度の高い刺繍ながら生地の柔らかさを損なわなず着用時の刺繍部分の強張りも軽減したつくりです。
ジッパーはリバーシブルジッパーで当時同様のタイプです。
袖にはボディと同様にレーヨン素材のパイピングが2本施されていて滑らかで柔らかなレーヨン生地はに巻き込みながら縫製を行うのは非常に難しい作業でもあります。
特徴的なカーブした形状の通称スマイルポケット、柔らかく滑りやすいレーヨン生地を綺麗に縫製するのは非常に難しく更にカーブ状に縫製していくのは巻きが外れてしまったりと縫製不良になるリスクも高くなります。
ポケットの両脇には裂けを防止する補強パーツ(ガシット)も附属。
これも綺麗な三角形に縫製していますが、やはり縫製の難しい箇所のひとつです。
リブは表裏でデザインを変えて編み上げていて山部分中央から綺麗にデザインが切り替わっています。
一点一点を綺麗に仕上げられる職人は日本国内でも数少なく高い技術を必要とする作りです。

A reversible souvenir jacket wearable on both sides.
The 100% rayon satin fabric offers a unique sheen and drape.
The embroidery uses rayon thread, matching the body fabric, for a soft, lustrous finish.
Despite the dense embroidery, the construction preserves the fabric's softness and minimizes stiffness in the embroidered areas when worn.
The zipper is a reversible zipper, matching the style of the era.
Two rayon piping strips, matching the body fabric, are applied to the sleeves. Sewing while wrapping the smooth, soft rayon fabric is an extremely difficult task.
The distinctive curved shape of the so-called smile pocket. Sewing the soft, slippery rayon fabric neatly is very difficult, and sewing along the curve increases the risk of the fabric unraveling or other sewing defects.
Reinforcement gussets are attached on both sides of the pocket to prevent tearing.
These are also sewn into a clean triangle shape, but they remain one of the most challenging areas to sew.
The ribbing features a different design on the front and back, with the pattern cleanly switching over at the center of the peak.
This construction requires high skill and is only possible by a small number of artisans in Japan who can finish each piece beautifully.
